Welcome to Rothschild Middle School Team 6-2
         

The sixth graders will spend the year exploring Earth Science which includes the structure of the Earth and its systems, Earth’s history, and Earth’s place in the solar system.

Please help your student stay on track for the CRCT by going over the Georgia Performance Standards listed at the front of the textbook on pages GA26-GA36.

Announcements 

Rothschild Reminders

Students are allowed to have book bags only if they have purchased a locker. Books bags will be kept in lockers all day.

    Hall Lockers cost $8.00

Students must keep shirts tucked in and pants pulled up to their waste. The dress code will be enforced.

After School Tutoring

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 4:05pm-5:00pm

  • Please send your child with a note that says they have permission to stay for tutoring

Progress Reports/Report Cards

    Report Cards--

    • Report Cards are sent home at the end of the nine weeks in a report card envelope. The report card cover must be signed and returned the next day.

Rothschild Science Academy

The next Science Academy meeting will be on .

The Rothschild Science Academy is new. It will be offered to a select number of students as an extension of the classroom. Students will bring home an application in September. More information will be coming soon.

* There will be after school meetings and the student must make arrangements for pick up.

Grading Scale

All assignments are graded based on a weighted scale. The following assignments will be graded throughout the grading period.

    Warm-Up/Notes 10%
    Homework 20%
    Class Work 30%
    Test/Quizzes/Project 40%
 Assignments

Reading and Key Concept students will be assigned sections to read throughout the year. They will need to complete the reading and key concept questions that are found at the beginning of the section. You may also find the Key Concept Questions under the units of study pages found on the left had side of the website.

Section Assessments will be assigned for the material that is being discussed in class. The assignments will be graded for accuracy. The assessments are found at the end of each section in the chapter.

Chapter Study Guides will be posted as they are provided to students. Students are to complete the study guide for homework. We will go over the answers in class just a few days before the test.You will find the Study Guides under the units of study found on the left hand side of the website.

 
Georgia Performance Standards

Here is the list of Georgia Performance Standards that we are covering. You may use the following website to access all standards.

Please question your students on a nightly basis about the standard we are discussing in class. This will help reinforce the material. Your child should be able to explain the standard in their own words while explaining the course material.
