WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE!!

We are a chapter of about 17 ladies and our chapter is still open for new members either through friends or via the RHS website. You can say that our events are called Hattings. Hattings occur when we're out and about and full reglia is required; the flashier, the better. We have had one Raduation and quite a few Red Sash and Vow Ceremonies where we officially bestow royal titles on all our ladies.

Happy Fall!

Who are we?

We are an organized group of ladies whose main objective is to get together for the purpose of fun and friendship. Sometimes we are serious and sometimes we are silly, but one thing is for certain, we will always take our silliness seriously. We may eat dessert first. Aspire to laugh much more and grow old playfully. Are proof that there is life after wrinkles. Embrace freedom age brings. Practice being audacious older women. Are not for the faint of heart. Feel challenged to live the second half of life outrageously. So since we are all in this together we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity, we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next. Our guidelines (Not Rules!): We have no rules...only guidelines!

Our chapter is still open to new members - Join us!!!

We're an offical registered chapter #23178!

IN LOVING MEMORY

ICandy

One of the most inspirational women I have ever met. I will never forget her always calling me "Salsa." She was and still is an inspiration to all that knew her.

Royal Announcements

If you have already attended two events and are ready tojoin our chapter, make sure you have selected your royal title so that we can proceed with the Red Sash and Vows Ceremonies.

Red Sash Ceremony and Ceremony of Vows is on September 15th for our new members.

A Woman's Timeline

Age 3: She looks at herself and sees a Queen

Age 8: She looks at herself and sees Cinderella.

Age 15: She looks at herself and sees an Ugly Sister (Mom I can't go to school looking like this!)

Age 20: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly." - but decides she's going out anyway.

Age 30: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly." - but decides she doesn't have time to fix it, so she's going out anyway.

Age 40: She looks at herself and sees "clean" and goes out anyway.

Age 50: She looks at herself and sees "I am" and goes wherever she wants to go.

Age 60: She looks at herself and reminds herself of all the people who can't even see themselves in the mirror anymore. Goes out and conquers the world.

Age 70: She looks at herself and sees wisdom, laughter and ability, goes out and enjoys life.

Age 80: Doesn't bother to look. Just puts on a red hat and goes out to have fun with the world.

I USED TO HATE PURPLE...it wasn’t my color it gave to my skin an unhealthy pallor. I wouldn’t wear purple, or scarlet, or pink cus someone might see me - then what would they think?? THEN - I read a poem - a WARNING to all and the RED HAT SOCIETY got on the ball! I bought a pink hat, and a purple tank top and wouldn’t you know it?? the world didn’t stop! Nobody cared what I had on my head and nobody cared what my color choice said! I found out that purple had given me freedom that I never knew! Now I don’t care what others might think I’ve joined with the women who live life on the brink! we do what we like, and wear what we want! Purple, pink and red are now colors to flaunt! I used to hate purple - how silly of me!! If I don’t have fun NOW, then when will I start? I’ve spent too much time caring what other’s thought! I’ll wear my new colors with ‘verve and elan‘! I’ll greet other Red Hatters with a wave of my hand! We’ll all stand together, the reds and the pinks We’ll not give a damn what other folks think! The Red Hat Society is far too much fun! And I’m here to say - I’m PROUD TO BE ONE!!

Come keep up with the Babes

In July we went to the Red Hat store off of Highway 92 followed by tea in Woodstock. Long day but fabulous! August takes us to a scrumptius chocolate fountain and fortune cookies and a side shopping trip to HURs. September is a creative month where we will be going to The Painted Potter and try our skills at decorating pottery, October will take us on a winery tour and fun wine tasting at Chateau Elan, preceded by lunch first. And November and December events are currently being finalized.

More fun and frolic to come......

Hello ladies!

75 Years Old

A 75-year-old woman went to the doctor for a check up. The doctor told her she needed more cardiovascular activity, and recommended that she engage in sexual activity three times a week. A bit embarrassed, she said to the doctor, "Please tell my husband." The doctor went out into the waiting room and told the husband that his wife needed sex three times a week. The 80-year-old husband replied, "Which days?" The doctor answered, "Monday, Wednesday, and Friday would be ideal. The husband said, "I can! bring her on Monday and Wednesday, but on Fridays, she'll have to take the bus."

Feminism

I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat. - Rebecca West

STRESSED?

Can it be a mistake that "stressed" is "desserts" spelled backwards?

GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO DO WHATEVER IS NECESSARY TO TAKE CARE OF U.

Take a walk. Have a cry. Break a glass. Write a letter. Pull your dress up over your head! Go ahead, do whatever it takes to help you feel better.

Keep our troops in your prayers!

Think of the families and pray the Lord will comfort them and guard them all year long. Ask for His protection for these soldiers, every one, and that He'll bring them all back safely when their mission's finally done.

Loving Creator, in your extravagance you have painted the world with bold stripes and gloried in our differences. When colors proclaim our uniqueness, let our little eccentricities be expressions of our joy for living. When our time together looks like a costume party, let our gatherings be a time of genuine community. Out of the abundance of your grace, you have set before us a small portion of your gifts: time, color, food and compassion.

Bless our time. Bless our joyful celebration of creative life. and bless both the food we share and those who labored so we might enjoy it. Most of all, use us: our flamboyance, our joy and our sharing that we may be a blessing to all we meet. Amen.
