Gifted Education

|
-30-45 minutes of a "special" class (art, music, PE, guidance, computers) One a day
-all day gifted services by a Gifted Certified Teacher
-Lesson plans made to meet each student's needs (reading books on their independent reading levels, math workshop-problem solving and math games, hands-on activities
-Our school now has Smartboards--the students love these and create their own activities using concepts from the Georgia Performance Standards
-Students in K-2 must make a 2 or 3 (in progress or meeting the standards) each grading period
-Students will be placed on Academic Probation if he or she is failing to meet the standards
Behavior Criteria
-students cannot be tardy seven or more times in a grading period
-cannot have 10 or more unexcused absences
-cannot have an office referral
-cannot cheat (plagiarism)
-cannot obtain an 80% or lower in conduct each nine weeks
Students will be placed on Behavior Probation if one or more of these occurs
