What's Happening This Week
We're nearing the end of the year - only 3 weeks of school after this one! Please meet with me to talk about how your student is doing at this point!
Core Knowledge time is when we work on our science and social studies. We are learning all about animals - what they look like, how they move, how they grow, etc. We are having fun learning everything about animals!
Every month, Mrs. Brock gives each class a book to use with their reading and writing strategies. This month, our book is "Courage" by Bernard Waber. We will be using all of our reading and writing strategies with this book to make our final piece of writing!
We are learning to subtract in these final weeks of school! We will be subtracting with manipulatives, pictures, and writing subtraction stories!
Being tardy to class interrupts the learning going on in the room. Please have your children here on time - on and after the third time they are tardy, they will sit in the STOP room for 30 minutes during playtime.
Please MAKE SURE to send a note when your child will be going home a different way. We will not allow them to go home a different way without a note. Also, make sure to tell your child to give us the note. We do not go through their book bags each day. They need to learn responsibility about turning in things. Thanks for your cooperation.
Please remember that students need to come to school EVERYDAY in dress code, unless otherwise notified. Dress code is a collared shirt (dark blue, light blue, white, red, or yellow); navy or khaki pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, or jumpers; athletic shoes (preferably with white soles); and a belt.
Parent involvement makes all the difference with your child. Please talk to your child about what they did at school, and read with your child every night. Emphasizing that school is important will help your child succeed!
