Muscogee County School District ![]()
Paula Shaw-Powell, Principal
We believe all students learn when provided high quality instruction that is engaging and challenging. We strive to keep our students challenged and engaged by incorporating research-based literacy and mathematics learning. With the help of the Cornerstone Literacy Framework, guided by the Georgia Performance Standards, we endeavor to provide a literacy-rich environment where your children are encouraged “to read, to write, to think critically, to reason, to analyze and evaluate information, to communicate effectively in a variety of forms, and to inquire systematically into any important matter”. That is literacy; and literacy is critical to full participation in a democratic society.”
In 2010 Double Churches Elementary School will celebrate our 125th Anniversary. During Double Churches Elementary School’s existence there have been many changes. However, one constant remains-Double Churches Elementary is an outstanding school with a reputation for achievement. At Double Churches Elementary School we are “Learning to Live and Living to Learn”.
