| Youth and Children's Ministries YOUTH MINISTRY Our Youth Ministry offers many chances to enjoy fun-filled activities including summer camps, retreats, lock-ins, and other special events. Fullerville's Youth ministry includes many exciting activities designed to promote Christian fellowship and to develop close friendships with other youth. We desire to provide an atmosphere of love and acceptance, free from outside peer pressures to all our youth. The group really is an important part of our fellowship.
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY The ministry of our children includes Children's church at 11:00am on Sunday and Mission Friends and AWANA on Wednesdays at 7:00pm. We feel that it is very important to our children's spiritual growth to have worship and Bible study geared to their level to produce productive adults for our church of tomorrow. Our HistoryBright Star Baptist Church was organized in 1913. Services were held in a house that was being used for a school. The house was located on Rockmart Road in the Town of Fullerville. In 1932, a lot of land was purchased on Old Town Road and the name was changed to Fullerville Baptist Church. Rev, Tom Smith was the first pastor in the new location, and under his leadership, the church was completely reorganized. A contract was let to build a new building for $600.00. The contractor was convinced that the people would not be able to pay him, so he changed the plans and built the building so that it could be converted into an apartment and raised the price to $750.00. The congregation sold homemade ice cream, cooked meals, etc. to help pay for the building. In 1966, another lot of land was purchased on the south side of the church and a new auditorium was soon erected with 5,000 sq. ft. of floor space and 5,000 sg. ft. of basement floor space for Sunday School rooms. A bus ministry was begun in 1969. Fullerville Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Steve Swafford, is presently utilizing various fundraisers with the proceeds to benefit our Building Fund, of which the Carl Tapley Christian Life Center, was built across the street in front of the church. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
