Thanks to everyone--students, families, faculty & staff--for a great year at Gentian. We appreciate all the involvement, participation and support for our students and school. Congratulations and Good Luck to Mr. Smith, our assistant principal,as he assumes the principalship at Blanchard Elementary. Well wishes and good luck to Mrs. Traino, one of Gentian's 5th grade teachers, who retired this year. We applaud your years of dedicated service in the classroom and will miss seeing you in the halls at Gentian.
Have a fun and safe summer. We will see you on Tuesday, August 5 for Verification Day!

Pick up your membership envelope at school in the PTA mailbox or send a note in with your child's backpack.
Your membership gives every child at Gentian a voice in the local, state and national scene. Your membership helps pay for PTA programs and activities at Gentian.
Congratulations to Mrs. Garcia's class. They achieved 100% membership for the entire class. They join Mrs. Chavez's, Mrs. Anderson's, Mrs. Norsworthy's, Mrs. Cook's and Mrs. Owens' classes in achieving their 100% membership goal.

- In Pre-K and Kindergarten:Mrs. Norsworthy's and Mrs. Owens' classes have achieved 100%. Of the remaining classes, Mrs. Love's class now leads
- In 1st grade: Ms. Lavender's class
- In 2nd grade: Mrs. Cook's class has achieved 100%
- In 3rd grade: Mrs. Chavez's class has reached 100% and Mrs. Gaylor's class is in the lead for the remaining classes
- In 4th grade: Mrs. Garcia's class has achieved 100%
- In 5th grade:Mrs. Anderson's class has achieved 100% and Mrs. Holland's class is in the lead for the remaining classes
Grade level leaders who have "caught" the most PTA members in the PTA Membership Drive are:
- Class goals are determined by the number of students, teachers and para-professionals assigned to the room
- Any adult who cares about kids can join PTA! PTA is not just for parents and teachers. It is for grandparents, uncles, aunts, neighbors, friends and co-workers too. At school, we ask for cafeteria, janitorial and support staff participation too.
- $4 is the Gentian membership fee.
- Gentian PTA keeps $1.25 of every member fee. The rest goes to state and national PTA

The money raised goes to the Gentian Activity Fund.
Since 2002, we have raised $2813 from Box Tops for our school!
Return Box Tops each time you return your child's signed report cards.
Congratulations to Mrs. Smith's class! They brought in the most Box Tops for the third semester. The front office rewarded them with fruit roll up treats and a Box Tops for Education certificate! They retain bragging rights for this semester until the next Box Top turn in day on Friday, May 23.
