PTA Open House

Join us for the first PTA meeting and Open House night on Thursday, September 3 at 6:30 P.M. We begin our night in the cafeteria and then adjourn to individual classrooms. We look forward to visiting with you!

Hearing & Vision Screening Day

Monday, September 28th is Gentian Elementary School's Hearing & Vision Screening Day, where volunteers screen students in selected grade levels. This valuable free screening is one of the activities that PTA does for our kids. We need several volunteers. Please consider making the small time commitment to train and participate. Contact Barbara Thibodeaux at msgusiam@yahoo.com if you can help with this important benefit for our kids.

Spano Clothing Bank

Ready to clean out your child's closet? Or yours? If so, please consider donating your gently used clothing to the Sara Spano PTA Clothing Bank. There is a critical need for boys' pants sized 6 to 8 and adult sized shirts and pants, male and female, in XL and 2XL sizes. Too, the Clothing Bank always appreciates new packages of socks and underclothes in all sizes ranging from Pre-K to adult sizes. The clothing bank serves all public school students throughout the school year in Muscogee County. Bring your donation in to Gentian or drop your clothes off at the Clothing Bank at 1112 29th Street. Clothing Bank hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. If you would like to volunteer, call 706-748-2414.

Join PTA !

One of the easiest ways to show your support for your child, your child's teacher and the school is by getting your PTA membership.

Gentian PTA membership is $4.

Pick up your membership envelope at school in the PTA mailbox or send a note in with your child's backpack.

Your membership gives every child at Gentian a voice in the local, state and national scene. Your membership helps pay for PTA programs and activities at Gentian.

Thank you for your support!

    • Any adult who cares about kids can join PTA! PTA is not just for parents and teachers. It is for grandparents, uncles, aunts, neighbors, friends and co-workers too. At school, we ask for cafeteria, janitorial and support staff participation too.
    • $4 is the Gentian membership fee.
    • Gentian PTA keeps $1.25 of every member fee. The rest goes to state and national PTA
