The Golden Girls of Dahlonega, Red Hat Society Chapter #72565, present Sheriff Mark McClure with a check for the Sheriff’s Christmas Campaign of “Shop-With-A-Cop”. Chapter Queen Joyce Ford, left, and Susanne Kirkland, Vice-Queen, to the right, do the honors for all of the Golden Girls. They went directly to Jail, they did not pass go, or collect two hundred dollars, but the Golden Girls of Dahlonega, did donate several hundred dollars to the Local “County Sheriff’s Office” for their Shop-With-A-Cop Christmas Program for under-privileged children.

November 30, 2007.. It was early, too early for the Vice Queen, but she, along with seven others from Golden Girls, braved the early call and departed at 9am on Nov. 30th for Pigeon Forge, TN, to meet up with 200+ Red Hatters to frolic at the 2nd Annual, 3 day"Christmas in the Smokies" affair. We had a ball! We had registered early for the event and we got to stay in the Beautiful Music Road Inn Hotel. It surely is a 3 star if not 4 star hotel! You can see in the pictures the four doors that we gals decorated! The Black Bear Theater for Breakfast and Supper on Saturday was great with the Blackwood Brothers entertaining at Breakfast and the Black Bear Jamboree at night! Sat afternoon we went to the Miracle Theater for a drama of the life of Christ. Really great! We ate, laughed, ate, laughed and then ate again. Meeting so many Red Hat sisters from so many states was really great, and seeing their Regalia was amazing! Ever so much BLING! We're looking forward to next year! It's in the middle of November...wonder if it will be "Thanksgiving in the Smokies"? Start saving the Pennys!

fun!
