FEW's Mission Statement:

Federally Employed Women works to end sex and gender discrimination, to encourage diversity for inclusion and equity in the workplace, and for the advancement and professional growth of women in federal service.

ABOUT FEW: Federally Employed Women is a private, non-profit membership organization representing more than one million federal employed women-both civilian and military personnel-has provided high quality training programs for 40 years. FEW was founded in 1968 to complement the Federal Women's Program, enhance the employment opportunities for women, and eliminate sex discrimination in the federal government.

LEGISLATIVE NEWS FEW held its second Lobby Day on May 12th and there were 77 attendees who visited over 90 offices representing 28 states. Representatives met with our members. FEW hosted a reception for the sponsors and supporters of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA)bill. FEW honored some very important members who have provided outstanding support to the legislative program.

New Year Resolutions

The most popular resolutions are those set to make some type of improvement to self. They include your well-being to lose weight, exercise more, eat better, drink less alcohol, quit smoking, and even to stop biting nails. Career is always in the picture and we all look or strive to get a better job. That will help us to get out of debt and save money, too. Other promises come in the area of education to improve grades, get a better education, learn something new (such as a foreign language or music), and to study more. For better health we promise to become more organized, reduce stress, be less grumpy, manage time better, be more independent, watch less television, play less sitting-down video games. Many add travel and taking a trip to their resolution. While many promise to volunteer to help others. So what is your resolution for 2012? Email me and let me know.
