Joining and Dues
Membership in FEW is open to any person who supports the mission and purpose of FEW upon payment of dues. FEW’s membership consists primarily of people employed by or retired from the federal government and active or retired government contractors. All members join through local Chapters. The organization is divided into three tiers: National, Regional, and Chapters, with 11 Regions and over 100 Chapters.
The National Board of Directors establishes national dues and Chapters and Region are governed by their respective boards and may assess their own dues. As a grassroots organization, FEW's vitality and effectiveness are directly linked to membership.
FEW membership is specifically defined as regular, honorary or lifetime. Lifetime membership is an available option after five consecutive years of membership.
Members are encouraged to:
- • become familiar with FEW’s goals and objectives
- • attend meetings and participate in Chapter activities
- • become familiar with FEW’s Legislative Agenda
- • meet with their legislators to educate them on FEW’s position
- • keep abreast of issues affecting women and federal employees
- • respond to action alerts by communicating with legislators
- • register and vote in local, state and national elections and
- • participate in training in the program areas of compliance, diversity and legislation.
Dues are $45.00/regular membership, $300.00/Lifetime membership and $200.00/Diamond membership (upgrade to a lifetime membership.
