Minutes from Meeting, January 26, 2011
At La Quinta Hotel 3581 Cameron Pkwy, Stockbridge, GA 30281, phone (770) 506-9991


Roll Call: In attendance Jean Specht, Paul & Shelly Huber, Elizabeth Hill, Janice & Michael Price, Susan Perez, Aletha Blackshear, Patrice Painter, Marilyn Coley, Rasheema Rashid and Sharon Skellie. Guest: LeRoy Griffin, VA Hospital of Dublin.GA

Door Prize: None.

Refreshments: Before the meeting refreshments and food were available and prepared by Paul & Shelly Huber who are Pampered Chef hosts. The food and desserts were delicious.

Training and Special Presentations: The chapter had their annual EEO compliance and Elizabeth Hill was the presenter. The presentation included a discussion and explanation of the Circle of Understanding, diversity comparison of EEO, affirmative action and diversity. The process, steps and follow-up were also presented and an open discussion followed the presentation.

Meetings Notes: The President then opened the general meeting with an announcement and recommendation that we continue to meeting at LaQuinta or another hotel (possibly Hilton or Hampton Inn) in the area of Exit 212 or 213 as we have had better attendance since moving the meeting.

Everyone was encouraged to look at the scholarship at the National and Regional levels to attend the NTP and RTP.

A discussion followed on have a fund raiser for the chapter our Pampered Chef hosts explained that if we have sales of $599.00 or below the chapter would get s10% of the sales and over $600 the chapter gets 15% of the sales.

A discussion on having a table at the NTP for $150.00 a table and then turned to voting on having the Pampered Chef at 4 week intervals and any show booked off the fund raiser would come back to the chapter for $3.00 for each booking.

Next on the agenda, a short discussion on a T-shirt and a logo design to sell to chapter member and more discussion will follow. Anyone can and is encouraged to submit any logo design for chapter t-shirts and other wares that may be approved for members.

It was recommended that the upcoming chapter meetings be changed to Tuesdays as many people are busy and unavailable other days of the week.

Our President, Jean Specht announced that she would be retiring from the Georgia Air National Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel in February.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
