We're Open for Business

Girls of all ages love to play store.
You can help turn their dreams into reality when you guide them through opening their very own Girl Scout Cookie Store!
Girls will love running their very own cookie store, marketing to customers, tracking inventory and counting money. Parents will love the skills girls learn that prepare them for personal and career success — the skills that make the Girl Scout Cookie Program part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. The first question is likely to be. . . “When can we get started?!!!”

2011 - 2012 COOKIE SALE ACTIVITY GUIDE (Coming Soon!)

NEW COOKIE!

HOW THE COOKIE SALE PROGRAM BENEFITS GIRLS

Responsibility ... through gathering orders and turning in information on time.

Communication skills ... through talking to customers about the cookies and how the funds will be used.

Financial and math skills ... through adding orders, making change and tracking money.

Entrepreneurial skills ... through creating new ways to sell and distribute cookies.

Self-reliance/self-confidence ... by overcoming shyness, learning to talk to others, setting and achieving group and personal goals, and discovering new strenths.

Teamwork ... by working with others for the benefit of all.

Goal-setting and planning ... through having a framework for meeting goals.

Honesty and integrity ... through using a meaningful set of values, The Girl Scout Promise and Law, to guide their actions.

HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT YOUR GIRL SCOUT?

November - December

  • Attend your Girl Scout's troop meeting to obtain all of the necessary information regarding the Girl Scout Cookie Sale – ask questions!
  • Ensure your girl(s) is a registered member of Girl Scouts. Only registered Girl Scouts may sell cookies.
  • Help her set her personal goal for Girl Scout Cookie incentives.
  • Sign a parent permission form authorizing participation in the sale and accepting financial responsibility for cookies sold by your daughter.
  • Practice good selling techniques and rehearse what to say to customers. Girls should review and honor sale dates, be familiar with cookie assortment and price and practice safety. Help your daughter/other girls complete the cookie order form with all of the needed information.

January

  • Assist your Girl Scout in the order taking process. Encourage her to reach out to friends and family and brainstorm unique places to visit for new customers.

February

  • Volunteer with the troop to organize cookie orders and assist with cookie delivery day. Help your daughter/other girls deliver their cookies in a timely manner.

March

  • Volunteer to assist at a Girl Scout Cookie Booth Sale to help the troop in meeting its goals. Make sure all cookie money is collected and turned in by the designated troop deadline.
