Hannan Academy's PTA Open House is September 2nd at 6:00pm. Please make every effort to be present. After the PTA meeting, parents will get the opportunity to visit the classrooms. I will be giving out a classroom packet which includes important information for you and your child. We would appreciate all of the support we can get for our first PTA!! For those students who have parents attending the PTA, they will receive two free bonus points in any subject of their choosing.

Classroom Supplies:
Parents, thank you very much for supplying your students with the correct supplies!! Our class will definitely get use out of every item that was brought. Thank you for all of your support!! Without you, our classroom would not run as smoothly as it does! Mrs. Waites
*Our conduct folders should be checked and signed every night of the school week.
*Our Reading Logs should also be initialed every night after reading for 20 minutes. These logs should stay in your conduct folder to be checked daily by the teacher.
*Wednesday Communicators should be checked, the papers should be taken out, and the date signed on the outer form every Wednesday night.

The Waites Weekly: Oct 6-10/
Parents and Students: Students start reading, reading, reading!! Every time you read an AR book and take a test on it the computer automatically counts up all the words you have read. Throughout the year we will be going to the Library on Fridays to read and check books out. We will also go to the Computer Lab to take AR tests throughout the year. While we are there it would be a GREAT idea to get several AR books to read so that each of you can meet your goal of 1,000,000 words read by the end of the school year! At the end of the year there will be a Millionaire Ball for all of the students who have read 1 Million words!! Make sure you are one of them! Start your Reading!!

**All spelling/vocabulary homework is due Thursday morning in the homework bin. **Students should complete all homework each week by Thursday in order to play HOMEWORKOPOLY.
**HOMEWORKOPOLY is a board game the students get to play as a reward for doing ALL homework for the week. Some of the awards are: Beanbag reading for 10 minutes, sit anywhere in the room for 30 minutes, tell a joke to the class, get 1 hawk ticket, use a pen to write with, and other positive awards.
