News In April,2009 students will be taking the mathematics portion of the exam(CRCT).The test will be two sections, with 35 problems per section.Students will be given 60 standard minutes to complete the exam, if student doesn't complete in 60 minutes the student can ask for an additional 10 minutes only.This means that the student will be given approximately 2 minutes per problem.Student has to read,solve and bubble in answer within this time.Students are encouraged to work on their arithmetic skills so calculations can be calculated accurately and in a timely manner. |

Helpful testing strategies and tips

Review math journal for notes and examples of problems worked in class.Math journal should also consist of helpful pages from textbook. Review evaluated worksheets and assignments.Review quizzes.Be sure to complete all correctionsheets of evaluated assignments and review them. Ask teacher questions when having difficulty so you will be prepared when test time comes.Get a good nights rest and take advantage of Rothschild's free breakfast program. If additional help is needed tutoring is offered Tuesday,Wednesday,and Thursday in room 504, my room.it states on my board if tutoring will be available,sometimes i have to cancel to hold parent conferences but students will know plenty time in advance so transportation home can be adjusted.Also Saturday school is coming soon around October. starting soon Each student should have a CRCT binder,with latest notes,diagnostic tests and worksheets to help them prepare for testing
