Dear Parents, We are so excited about the new school year and are looking forward to the many challenges it will bring. MLK is proud to announce that we have been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a 2007 Distinguished Title I School. We will continue to strive for excellence in all that we do. Also, the district has launched a new communication system to enhance the quality of service we provide to our community. This new system is called Connect-Ed. This form of communication allows us to send messages to hundreds of parents, faculty, and staff in just minutes. To further enhance the quality of education, we are committed to providing educational experiences that will enable each student to become lifelong learners, enter the workforce with the necessary skills to become productive time members of society. We encourage you, as parents, to become actively involved in activities. As always, we are ready to assist you in the pursuit of your child’s educational endeavors.

Sincerely,

Terry Baker
