Security blankets for children... PROJECT LINUS is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization whose mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of NEW, HOMEMADE, WASHABLE blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer blanketeers. Our chapter began with two enthusiastic employees at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Marietta, Georgia and in the last eight years we have donated over 15,000. Friends, family and local concerned citizens became involved as well. Because of this wonderful support, since our chapter's inception in Feb. 2000, we have never turned down a request for a security blanket. (photo by Damien Guarnieri, Marietta Daily Journal)
