It was a wonderful vusit Valdosta--such enthusiasm--a new branch is being formed SOON! Hurrah!!! QI Northside Atlanta obtained a GRANT to FUND some of their charitable projects to support Camp Juliana and scholarships were provided! A long-time member was honored by gifts to the Cancer Society & Wanda Frey Joiner Foundation. They have sold Sally Foster gift wrap to help fund some of their projects as well. A large "garage" sale is held and enjoyed raising more funds. This is a small club with "dynamic" results! "Two, four, six, eight, Who do we appreciate?" District Eight! District Eight! From the seven hills of Rome to the subars of Atlanta, the city of Valdosta and Azalea City. All found by Quota's Caring & Sharing in Georgia-- reaching out to help disadvantaged women and children, those with hearing loss. VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR Quota International of Valdostas selects Robbie Brooker as Volunteer of the Year. Robbie has been a member of Quota since 2004 and has been Vice-President and is President Elect. She is chairman of Service Committee actively working in the Taste of Valdosta and Gift Wrap and in charge of new members. She was the Club Mentor for the chartering of QI Azalea City and working on chartering a new club in one of the surrounding counties. She worked with Siemens Project and got two child hearing aids and is working on anothr one right now. She is always ready to lend a helping hand. She is an active member in her church and helping out at her son's school. She is our main cheerleader, pushing us to be the Best Club around. Congrats Robbie! See Robbie in blue dress on the end. In having some work done on my computer, her picture got lost in la la land, sorry. |
Club Visits Club Visits Completed: Valdosta Clubs-Aug. 25 1 pm Rome-Sept.08 Noon Northside Atl. Oct. 13 6 pm It was great being with you all. Keep up the good work! Be sure to notify International about any new members or changes in your club rosters. ROME Quota BINGO is a wonderful service given to the residents at Wimberly and Mercy Senior Service. This is always spear-headed by Mana Davenport and a host of volunteers. Mana selects prizes from the Dollar Store and a hugh array is displayed on a table. It is a real "social" event for these lovely elderly people who delight in winning and receiving a prize and enjoying the delicious refreshments always provided. COMING MAY 7 & 8 District 8 Convention at Valdosta where our New Governor Patti Sutton will be installed. Rumor has it that our own Laura Lahman will be the International representative.
