Getting Started......
On March 10, 2004, I started my chapter, Winter Wonder Women (WWW) with 7 ladies. As we were learning what the Society was all about, and upon reading all the excitement in the Friday Broadcasts, decided to change our chapter name from our serious (WWW) to a more 'fun' name, and voted on our present name of Scarlet O'Hatters. We get together two times a month and even look forward to extra activities.

      RED HAT SOCIETY

What a wonderful invention for us grown up Little Girls! I am Pat Rigney (Queen of Hats) of the Scarlet O'Hatters of Winterville, GA. and I want to welcome you to the place where there is fun after fifty (and before) for women of all walks of life. We believe silliness is the comedy relief of life and, since we are all in it together, we might as well join red-gloved hands and go for the gusto to-gether. Underneath the frivolity we share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next.

SISTERHOOD
by Pat Rigney

Come all you Red Hatters and sit a spell,
I gotta little story I'd like to tell,
Bout a lady who was shopping and saw a Red Hat.
Hmmm,she thought. 'Gotta have that.'
That was in the springtime and she wore her new red hat.
She was happy to hear the compliments that came from that.
Her friend was turning 50 and the lady thought for fun,
She'd buy her friend a red hat, just like she had done.
The story spread and all her friends, they also wanted one,
A big red hat for their heads so they could join the fun.
That started a tradition that has swept so mightily
And thus began our sisterhood, the Red Hat Society.
