Hello fellow Christians. This is the 3rd Bible study in the Uplifting the Christian series and I hope you use these bible studies for uplifting your fellow Christians and for excelling your knowledge of God's Word!

God has saved your soul and you have a new home home in Heaven. You have put on the armor of God and are ready to fight the darkness of this world. Now what do you do next? Jesus said to FOLLOW HIM!

We are to no longer serve this world because the Bible says we are set free from this world and the former things are passed away.
Ephesians 5:22 -That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
1 Peter 1:14 - As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
The word Conversation in Ephesians means lifestyle or behavior. We are to have a lifestyle that is holy and pure before God.
1 Peter 1:15-16 - But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

There are special commandments in 1 Thessalonians 5.
1 Thessalonians 5 [12] And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
[13] And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
[14] Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
[15] See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
[16] Rejoice evermore. - Be joyful for Jesus has saved your soul.
[17] Pray without ceasing. - Never stop communicating with the Father.
[18] In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. - Thank God for everything.
[19] Quench not the Spirit. - Don't be a hindrance to someone trying to serve God.
[20] Despise not prophesyings.
[21] Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. - Study your Bible to protect yourselves from false teachings.
[22] Abstain from all appearance of evil. - If it looks evil stay away!
[23] And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Next we are to spread Jesus' light around the world and be a witness to others. We are to go everywhere that we can and spread the wonderful news of Jesus Christ.
Luke 14:23 - And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
