In this Bible study I am going to try to break down each verse and give you a devotion on what God has shown me through these verses.

1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Of course you can look at these verses and see the real creation story, but God gave me something different than that.
The words "IN THE BEGINNING"; What do they mean to you? Well when I look at these words I see a mean, hateful little boy at the age of 12 with an attitude that would be a match for a demon. I was born a sinner and so were you; and I was as lost as last year's Easter egg. The age of 12 was the beginning for me when I reached the age that I knew I needed to be saved. In the beginning God dealt with my heart and I got saved in March 1999 at Holy Ground Baptist Church during revival on a Wednesday night. Any person that has been dunked in the blood and born again had to go through the beginning.
Now look at the word "CREATED". When God saved your soul, you were made a new creature as the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. When you were saved you were created a new creature that is different from the world. The Bible also tells us that we are to be seperate from the world as well. 2 Corinthians 6:17 - Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, So lets read on and find out more of how God creates a Christian.

2. And the earth was without form,and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Verse 2 is kind of a repeat of verse 1, but look at the words "Without Form, And Void" This was us, the saved, before we got saved and bought with the blood. We were without Christ and incomplete. The darkness in verse 2 is Satan's control he had on our lives before Jesus set us free with His grace.
Now look at the words "And the Spirit of God moved upon". When you were sitting in church or in the car or where ever you got saved, the Holy Spirit had to move upon your soul and convict you and this is how you got saved. You were convicted and realized that you needed Christ and you received Christ.

3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
When I see the word LIGHT, I see how I was in darkness and then Jesus' light came into my soul and now He leads me on through life's darkest journeys. But as His light enters us we are to let it shine for others to see and bring others into the family of God. Jesus said He is the light of the world inJohn 8:12 - Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
He also said we are to shine His light around the world in Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.So let your light shine throughout the world and don't let Satan stop you.

4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
Look at the words "And God saw the light,". This is us when God looks down on us. He sees the blood that has covered us instead of sin and this is why we can have fellowship with Him. The blood should be a comfort to know because it was a gift that assures another gift one day, Heaven.THANK GOD FOR THE BLOOD! Romans 3:24-25 : Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
"And God divided the light from the darkness". This means that we are to be seperate from the world. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 - Abstain from all appearance of evil. This means to stay away from anything that you know is wrong.

5. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
This is the conclusion of this Bible study and I hope you have a new look at the creation of the Christian. But in verse 5 the words "called the light Day". That is the name of all Christians because we are not of this world and we have the light of God in us and we will never see death and we will live in glory forever with our blessed Saviour. And the Night is Satan and his demons and the world because their destination is an eternal HELL, but if your reading this and you know that you are not a fellow Christian, you can be saved from the terrible place called Hell.
