We are so proud of our accomplishments!
"An Evening With Our Ya-Yas"
February 2004
The chapter participated in a local fundraiser for the newly formed Tiftarea Foundation for Women's Health. The theme for the evening was "An Evening With Our Ya-Yas." Local cancer survivors were celebrated and the event was a huge success.

The ZTA ladies were classier than ever and won 2nd prize in the table decorating contest. Breast cancer awareness and ZTA insignia were used in their elegant table decor along with the fraternity colors, turqouise blue and steel gray.

In addition to the festivities of the evening, the chapter was pleased to meet fellow ZTA alumna Emily Ray who was in attendance from Spartanburg, South Carolina! Emily is an established jewelry designer and her work is well known and respected throughout the area.

Chapter Community Service

As the Creed states, "To prepare for service and learn the nobility of serving...," the Tiftarea Alumnae Chapter is always looking for ways to serve in the local communities. Every meeting includes a service project. Members bring in old eyeglasses to donate to "New Eyes for the Needy", magazines to donate to local doctor offices and womens' shelter, plastic shopping bags to donate to the Salvation Army, boxes of Tide to the local Humane Society, Valentine's to a nursing home, just to name a few!

Individual Community Service

The motto of ZTA is "To Seek the Noblest." The members of ZTA's Tiftarea Alumnae Chapter are each noble women. Not only do many work full-time jobs and devote time to their family, each lady is also involved in her community. We have members on the Board of Directors for The Kids Advocacy Coalition, Tift County Museum of Arts and Heritage, Tifton 21st Century, First Methodist Church of Tifton, Salvation Army, and Irwin County Public Library. We also have members active in Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Professional Assoc. of GA Educators, Tift County High School Boosters Club, Garden Club, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The Creed of Zeta Tau Alpha

To realize that within our grasp, in Zeta Tau Alpha, lies the opportunity to learn those things which will ever enrich and ennoble our lives; to be true to ourselves, and to those within and without our circle; to think in terms of all mankind and our service to the world; to be steadfast, strong, and clean of heart and mind, remembering that since the thought is father to the deed, only that which we would have manifested in our experience should be entertained in thought; to find satisfaction in being, rather than seeming, thus strengthening in us the higher qualities of the spirit; to prepare for service and learn the nobility of serving, thereby earning the right to be served; to seek understanding that we might gain true wisdom; to look for the good in everyone; to see beauty with its enriching influence; to be humble in success, and without bitterness in defeat; to have the welfare and harmony of the Fraternity at heart, striving ever to make our lives a symphony of high ideals, devotion to the right, the good, and the true, without a discordant note; remembering always that the foundation precept of Zeta Tau Alpha was love; "the greatest of all things."
