GOALS FOR 2005-2006 MOPS

GOALS FOR THE 2008-09 MOPS MINISTRY

Trinity on the Hill Chapter

ADVENTURES IN MOTHERING

“...how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ…” Ephesians 3:18

MOPS International exists to encourage, equip, and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother, and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.   Better Moms Make a Better World!

Meet the needs of today’s moms attending MOPS.

1.      Meet the distinct needs of mothers in this unique time of life, and teach them to nurture their families and marriages.

2.      Guide meetings & discussions to include the theme verse (Ephesians 3:18) and the book The Mommy Diaries.

3.      Manage discussion groups to become small, intimate families through intentional, meaningful discussion time that will encourage, support and challenge moms.

4.      Welcome each mom walking into a MOPS meeting first by a greeter then again by her DGL.

5.      Build relationships outside discussion groups by planning monthly MOPS Mom’s Nights Out and play dates and creative mixers during meeting times.

6.      Promote MOPS to reach more moms and churches with a goal of 10 new moms.

Allow every mom to grow in her relationship to Jesus Christ.

  1. Improve opportunities to mentor by increasing the number of Mentor Moms to at least 1 per table and offering 1:1 prayer time at the end of meetings.
  2. Pray for MOPS at each steering meeting using specific prayer requests that moms share in prayer journals during our meetings.
  3. Meet as a team to pray for MOPS 15 minutes before each meeting starts.
  4. Plan at least one outreach project focused on moms in need (Care Pregnancy, teen moms, Habitat for Humanity, etc.).
  5. Provide applicable devotions in every meeting, shared by our Mentor Moms.
  6. Offer MOPS bible studies at least once per year to allow moms to study God’s Word with women with whom they have built relationships.

Provide a fun and caring atmosphere for children in MOPPETS.

  1. Provide loving, quality care for each child
  2. Teach the Bible through simple Bible stories, activities, and songs.

Actively train current steering team leaders & recruit and train our future MOPS leaders.

  1. Utilize our MOPS theme curriculum resources, attend convention training, and use additional MOPS DVDs and handouts.
  2. Train leaders to build teams to provide closer relationships with MOPS moms (pull them in) and to protect the future of our ministry.
