VMMS is a new school and has been given wonderful funding for a sound book collection by the Board of Education, but as a starting library our collection is in the development stage. It takes many years to build a collection for our kids. As parents ask for more books for diverse reading levels the media center saw the need to provide opportunties for students to supplement their reading interests, academic pursuits, and reading pleasures. They could still use the media center collection, but have options. This is very beneficial to the student. So......

VMMS purchaded Renaissance Place to allow students to have access to ALL of Accelerated Readers tests.

Students could go to any public library or bookstore to select books, besides using the school library. Then,they could be tested on at Veterans Memorial choosing reading from RenPlace. What an asset! So, We hope that you'll use this valuable tool to help your child in reading selection.
