Waller - Richmond Coat Of Arms

Each color and symbol that is represented in the coat of arms has a meaning or a message. These meanings are to be passed throughout the family and down through its history, because they indicate ancestry and distinctions.

The CROSS is for Christ's crucifixion, and our belief that HE did die and was raised from the dead, it is RED to symbolize HIS atoning blood.

The MANTLE which represents our cloak is comprised of two colors -
RED, because of charity, valor, nobility, daring, bravery, joyfulness,
victory, generosity, honor and passion - This together with the
White (which represents peace and sincerity), obligates us to
aid those who find themselves oppressed by injustice,
which is why there are so many military personnel
and members of the ministry in our family.

The CHECKERBOARD represents the multi-race background of our family.

The BLUE, which wraps the checkerboard, represents justice,
nobleness, perseverance, zeal and loyalty.

The letters "WR" represent the two great families that were
brought together by the union of Robert and Ella.

The GUN and SWORD represent justice and military service.

The SICKLE and HOE represent our laboring in the earth
and the hope from a fruitful harvest.

The HELMENT is that of the protector and the white
feather represents serenity.

1908 represents the union of the two families.
