Standard Operating Procedure #5 – Physical fitness

1.        Physical fitness is a vital component of a cadet’s military training. It helps develop a lifetime habit of good health and fitness.

2.        A certain level of physical fitness is required to participate in any USNSCC activity. A higher level of fitness is required to participate in certain summer trainings such as Master-at-Arms, SEAL, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal training.

3.        As required by USNSCC Regulations, no cadet may attend Recruit Training who is unable to pass the Physical Fitness Test.  The Warrior Division has determined that no summer training requests will be granted if the cadet is unable to pass the USNSCC Physical Fitness test as part of its determination of the cadet’s “mental, medical, and physical” fitness.

4.        Failure to pass the USNSCC Physical Fitness test for 3 consecutive drills is cause for review of the cadet’s capacity to participate in the USNSCC program.

5.        Physical fitness is scheduled, when feasible, at every drill.

6.        The current test required for awarding of the Physical Fitness ribbon will be given periodically throughout the year.
