PTO Fundraising Plans for the 2008-2009 School year: Great American Opportunities Fall Fundraiser, including Magazine Subscriptions Kick-Off Date is Friday, August 15, 2008 Closing Date is August 29, 2008 Tentative product delivery date is October 24, 2008. Fall Festival at Westmont will be in early October. Cookie Dough Sales Fundraiser will be in late October. Coupon Book Fundraiser in February 2009. |

Minutes from the Board Meeting March 18, 2008 Marian Gavitt called the meeting to order. Items discussed: Before receiving the money from the Coupon Book Fundraiser, PTO has $19,000 in the bank. In considering how to best use the money for Westmont Elementary, the Executive Board discussed the following: · PTO will purchase the medals that the P. E. Department will award to the students during WES Olympics in May. The cost will be approximately $714.00 · Mrs. Binning placed a request for PTO to purchase more of the die cut shapes that the teachers and paraprofessionals use in the classroom. It has been at least four years since the last addition to this collection was made. She had already made a selection of shapes they would like to have, the total coming to $940.00. PTO has authorized the purchase of half of the die cuts this year, and half for next year. · PTO approved to cover the costs for the AR celebrations at the end of the year. Kindergarten through 3rd grade will have a celebration together, and 4th and 5th grades will have a celebration together. The cost is yet to be determined. · PTO has agreed to pay Mrs. Binning to come and open the school for the monthly meetings of Boy Scout Troop associated with Westmont Elementary. The pay will be retroactively paid to cover from the beginning of the school year, approximately $360. · PTO will consider playground equipment options in replacing the wooden castle that was removed from the front playground at the beginning of the school year. This may have to be multi-year fundraising goal. · PTO will also look into replacing the drapes in the cafeteria that cover the stage area. If the cost to replace is reasonable, PTO may move to replace them this year. If not, it will be an item to work toward in fundraising. Researched options and pricing will be discussed at the next Executive Board meeting in May, as well as the date for the Fall Fundraiser. · PTO would like to make available to Westmont teachers the possibility of planning a third field trip (instead of just two) for all grade levels in the next school year. The approximate cost will be $1,080.00. The Teacher Appreciation Luncheon will be May 9th. PTO will have Business Partner Mi Rancho provide the meal, and PTO will purchase cheesecakes for dessert. PTO is responsible for decorating the cafeteria for the 5th grade graduation as well as the area where the 5th grade graduation breakfast will be held. The meeting was adjourned by Marian Gavitt. |
