Dr. Robert J. Lehn
Pastor
Originally from Minneapolis, Pastor Lehn holds a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Maranatha Baptist Bible College and a Master's and Ph.D in Church Administration from Bob Jones University. Through God's leading to come to Augusta, he began Westside Baptist in 1983. He is a warm-hearted man who manifests a shepherd's care and a servant's spirit in his ministry toward individual members of this congregation. Under his very capable spiritual leadership, Westside has grown both physically and spiritually to became a strong and stable local church.
David M. Beck
Assistant Pastor/Youth
Our assistant pastor brings to our church unique qualities in preaching and teaching. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Bible from Bob Jones University. His primary responsibilities lie in the organization and execution of a dynamic children's and youth ministry. His desire to see young people surrender to the Lord and live for Him is evident in all of his work. He provides a full program including camps, Vacation Bible School, activities, parties, challenging Bible studies and informal times of encouragement. He is an instructor in the Augusta Child Evangelism training program.
Raven Neivel
Music Ministries
The effectiveness of the ministry of the body of Christ is a special burden in Raven's heart. Graduating from Bob Jones University in 2003 with a degree in church music, God led her to Westside Baptist to minister through music. Her goal is to see believers edified, fully equipped, and fulfilling God's purpose for them in the local ministry.
Kay Lehn
Secretary
Kay enjoys serving her husband and the Westside family in the church office. Knowing that a pastor wages a spritual battle for the salvation and sactification of a soul, she wants to help hold up his arms through prayer and encouragement. Her vision is to promote unity within the Body and to support those who are actively serving Christ through the use of their spiritual gifts. Teaching a Ladies' Sunday School class is a great joy to Kay, and she loves the fellowship of God's family. She sees the Westside church staff as a God-given gift and enjoys working alongside the pastors, Raven, and Sandie, and Crystal.
Sandie Bero
Bookkeeper
When our previous bookkeeper resigned, and Sandie’s husband, Bob, was not able to take the position, Sandie took over bookkeeping responsibilities in August 2001. Sandie had been managing the family budget for many years and, with Bob’s experience in project management, the two worked together until Sandie was able to do the job alone. Bob & Sandie have been married 23 years and have a son and a daughter in college and a son with developmental disabilities. God has shown Himself to be their strength and refuge and the God of all comfort. Because of their experience with Matthew, their heart’s desire has been to comfort others with the comfort wherewith they have been comforted.
Crystal Cogbill
Secretary
When her new husband, James, was assigned to his new military duty station at nearby Fort Gordon, Crystal moved to the Augusta area. Several months after joining the Westside fellowship, Crystal began to serve in the office, working alongside Kay, Sandie, and Raven. In addition to her secretarial duties, Crystal also coordinates the church’s social functions, works in the Awana program, and helps James teach a children’s Sunday school class. Crystal is grateful for the privilege to serve our gracious Lord here at Westside.
