NEWS Our service project at LifeCare Oahu on December 8th was a hit! If you have pictures to share please forward them directly to Mrs. Welch and she'll prepare them for publishing on the web site. 2008 APPLICATION INFO: The Induction Ceremony for the 2008-2009 school year was held on September 7th. Nine new members were inducted into the Zeta Delta Chapter. The Membership Requirements Page will be changed in January to reflect updated testing information for the 2009-2010 academic year appplications. |

Books and Bears
Project Dates: March 1-31, 2008
Zeta Delta Chapter collected children's books and teddy bears
for two good causes:
The Books: For "Reach Out and Read," a program sponsored by Kaiser Permanente for use in their Hawaii pediatric hospital wards and clinics.
The Bears:
For "Project Poppa Bear", a program that gives teddy bears to wounded Iraqi children treated at the 332nd Expeditionary Medical Group
field hospital at Balad Air Base, Iraq. We received so many bears we sent some to Iraq to a Marine unit based out of Kaneohe Bay and to the US Army Corps of Engineers Hearts and Minds Project.
We collected over 1500 bears and over 1300 books! Thanks to a generous donor, all postage costs were covered. Mahalo Nui Loa!
