November 19: What's the Point?
Bring food for the food bank
Fabric Painting
At our November meetings each person present will receive a piece of white muslin, a brush and a trial pallet of paints. We really plan on painting during the meeting, so please come prepared to experiment. No materials are needed, however, if you would like to bring a piece of fabric from your own stash on which to paint, please feel free. We do not expect this to be a messy experiment, but you never know what could happen with paint, brushes and water so please dress accordingly and perhaps plan to keep your stitching in a sealed plastic bag or clear out of range. Come to the November meeting ready to have some fun. If you have questions, please contact Cynthia Madsen.
December 12: Fun is the Point
Edgewood Road NE Hy-Vee Saturday A.M. Only
Holiday Brunch & Ornament Exchange
Our holiday brunch will be held on Saturday with our meeting starting at 9:30 a.m. The $10 charge for this will be collected at the November meeting.
Menu: egg casserole, bacon, fresh fruit salad, assorted muffins, coffee and water.
At this meeting we will start our new tradition of honoring members for membership longevity. Certificates for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of membership in Cedar Valley Chapter will be handed out. Remember we will have an embroiderered ornament exchange among those members who wish to participate. Please plan to bring holiday tablecloths and a favorite tree ornament to adorn the tables.

Correspondence Courses Swiss Sampler
The Swiss Sampler correspondence group is off to a good start with 13 participants. Patty Andrews and Gail Dursher are providing excellent guidance and we are learning from each other as well. The next meetings will be held at the home of Gail Durscher. The morning group will meet at 10 a.m. on November 11; the evening meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10 with Monday evening November 9th as an alternate in case the weather is uncertain. We will not meet again until January, so come with your project to ask questions, see what others are doing, andget to know others in the group better.
Please contact Phyllis Olson or Gail Durscher if you plan to attend.
Crazy Patch Adventure has been selected as the next Correspondence Course. This piece really allows you to be creative. It is pictured and described on page 29 of the 2009-2010 EGA Education Catalog or you can see it on line at the EGA website. Cost of the class is $25. If you did not have an opportunity to sign up at the October meeting, but would like to take the class please send your check payable to CVEGA to Phyllis Olson or bring it to the November meeting. Although we will not start this project until after the first of the year, we need to send in our enrollments soon because it takes a little time to process the paperwork. We hope to have the instructions to distribute at the December brunch. If you have any questions, please call or email Phyllis.
Detailed descriptions and photographs are available in the Education Supplement.
Follow the links in the lower left sidebar to the Correspondence Course section of the EGA web site.
Contact Phyllis Olson for additional information about correspondence courses from EGA.
