![]() Formed in 1975 as a Bicentennial project, today the NTCMA is one of the oldest and most highly respected non-profit Associations dealing with the preservation of America's rural musical artforms. We were incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation after first being an Iowa State Non-profit in 1976. Tradition Magazine is the quarterly publication for this corporation, and Tradition Bulletin is the weekly e-mail updates, sent out to dues paying members who support the NTCMA and the work we do in the preservation of America's rural musical artforms. Annual dues are $25, and includes the magazine, the e-mail bulletins, and free admission to the Pioneer Music Museum, free admission to America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame, and free admission to America's Old Time Fiddlers Hall of Fame, plus frequent programs and shows at reduced prices. Advertising is available in both the hard copy Tradition Magazine, and the e-mail Tradition Bulletin, at a low cost. The NTCMA is self-supporting through tax deductible donations, and an old-time music festival and pioneer ag-expo (now in it's 34th year) held at the Plymouth County Fairgrounds in LeMars, Iowa. Dates for 2009 are Aug 31-Sept 6. Please utilize the festival button on the left column for more information. From any profits the NTCMA might realize, it supports a Pioneer Music Museum, America's Old Time Fiddler's Hall of Fame, America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame, the Oak Tree Opry Performance Center, Royal Flair BMI Music Publishing, and Prairie Music Records. We've been performing and promoting the music of "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" for nearly sixty years now! Volunteer Officers and Board of Directors work hard to make sure the rural music of America survives. If the NTCMA has a motto it would be... WE DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN THE PAST, WE WANT THE PAST TO LIVE WITH US
