What is Wit Radio?

WIT Radio (WITCARS - Winnebago-Itasca Travelers Communications Amateur Radio Service) is a special interest club within the Winnebago-Itasca Travelers (WIT) Club. WIT members who are also licensed amateur radio operators are eligible to be members of WIT Radio.

WIT Radio supports general and emergency communications at the WIT Grand National Rally (GNR) held annually in Forest City, Iowa. At GNR and other special events, we use our club call sign, WØWIT.

Many WITCARS members check into the FMCA ARC Nets at 1300 Eastern Time on 14307.5 kHz daily (M-F). Wednesdays are known as "Winnebago Wednesdays" -- when checking in, please mention that you're a member of WIT, WIT Radio or a Winnebago/Itasca owner.

WIT RADIO has a Yahoo discussion group which provides a forum for our members and others interested in amateur radio in motorhomes to discuss topics of common interest. Check it out at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/witcars/

WIT Radio (WITCARS) maintains its own email distribution list independent of the Yahoo group. If you change your email, please notify the Secretary. See officer contact info below.

Make Plans for 2012 Grand National Rally
The Winnebago-Itasca Travelers 2012 Grand National Rally is scheduled for Forest City, IA from Sun. July 15 to Fri. July 20. WIT Radio (WITCARS) members are invited to park in the WIT Radio row and join in lots of amateur radio activities during GNR. We plan to once again operate a Special Event Station the weekend kicking off GNR (Sat/Sun, July 14/15).
