Tom Schuchman, the love of my life

IN LOVING MEMORY

Thomas "Tom" L. Schuchman, 63, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, born March 14, 1947 in East St. Louis, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Schuchman was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained during the Tet Offensive in 1968 and along with his unit awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service. He was a member of the Order of the Purple Heart and a life member of VFW Post 8677 in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Mr. Schuchman was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Belleville, Illinois where he served on the administrative council. He was a graduate of Belleville Township High School and Belleville Barber College. Tom was the owner of Colonial Barber Shop in Fairview Heights, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond John"Bud" Schuchman Sr, and his grandparents, Harold and Florence, nee Tojo, Schuchman Sr. Surviving are his wife, Terry Lynn Schuchman, nee Schau, of Belleville, Illinois, his daughter, Tracia Lorie (Bryan) Alkire-Fisher of Clarksburg, West Virginia, his mother, Artie Mae "Kitty" Schuchman, nee Hardin of Fairview Heights, Illinois, four grandchildren, Christian Xavier Alkire, Thomas Winfred Alkire, Patrick Nathaniel Fisher, and Joshua Paul Fisher, a brother, Raymond John"J.R."
