The Charleston Jaycees run all kinds of projects through out the year ranging from community fund raising to family get togethers! Listed below are some of the projects we have done in the last year and an explaination of what it involves.
2005 Costume Installation Dinner

Installation Dinner-Every year we have a dinner to celebrate the installation of our new officers.

St. Patty's Day Bowling gives members a chance to socialize and have a good time
St. Patty's Day Family Bowling-We get together for a family night out bowling.
Taste of Charleston-A business expo for area buisnesses. We set up an information booth and participate for the opportunity to network with our area buisness leaders and possibly find new members.
Sand Pile Days-We deliver sand to people's homes for $7 a wheelbarrow full.
Summer Car Show-Hold a car show to raise money for Camp New Hope(summer camp for developmentally disabled kids).

2005 CAR SHOW WINNERS
Fourth of July Turtle Derby-We sell sponsorships for turtles for $10 and race them at the park on the 4th. Winners take away trophies for 1st through 3rd place. Money raised goes to JC Family Aids Network(JCFAN).
Fourth of July Kids Games-We ran kids games in the park for the Red, White, and Blue Days. This project used to be ran by the area Kiwanis Club, however their club folded due to lack of members, and we were asked to step in and take over for them. We had water balloon toss, bean bag throw, ladder rack, and potatoe sack races.
Fair Gates Project-We man and collect admission fees at the gates of the county fair. In return the Fair Board gives us a donation. We use the money to help run our other projects throughout the year.
Putt Putt for Charity-We host a putt putt tournament at the mini golf course. We sell hole sponsorships to area businesses. Donate a total of $1500 to five local charities!
Longaberger BINGA-We held a bingo at the local Elks Club and the prizes were Longaberger baskets. We had area businesses donate items for door prizes and gave away a grill and Makita drill in a raffle drawing. To raise money for the chapter.

CHAINSAW! HAUNTED HOUSE 2005
Haunted Fairgrounds-We set up and run a haunted house in a building at the fairgrounds for a week. Money raised is used to fund other projects through out the year.
Santa Clause at Fazoli's-We take pictures of kids with Santa Clause. Proceeds go to Shop with a Cop.
We also hold several social activities throughout the year to give the members of our chapter an opportunity to get to know each other better!

We also offer great training opportunities to help our members develop their business, leadership, and communication skills!
