How an employer can benefit from the Jaycees How can an employer benefit from his employee's Jaycee membership? • Jaycees learn to set goals and reach them through projects. If the goals are not attainable, the employee learns in a non-career, non-threatening organization how to set more realistic ones. If the goals are attainable and a project is successful, each Jaycee will see ways to improve the program. • Jaycees learn to work together as a team. Teamwork is very important in our organization, because we have many different types of people with many different backgrounds all working toward similar goals. • Jaycees learn personnel administration and motivation. Because we are a non-profit volunteer organization, there is no built-in "incentive" for members to participate. Chairpersons and officers learn how to make working together easy for the membership and learn to closely define and communicate goals. • In addition to the above three items, Jaycees incorporate many management skills and techniques which assist them in their careers and improve them as employees. These include planning, budgeting, goal-setting, prioritizing, time management, motivation, assertiveness training and communication skills. |
