February 19, 2007

Dear ZTA Chicago Area Alumnae:

There is good news to report from ZTA’s colonization at Northwestern! Despite blizzard conditions (and National Officers who were not prepared to walk around campus in the snow!) we had a record turnout for infoviews on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We conducted almost 200 infoviews and issued 137 invitations to Preference. Since we were only allowed to pledge 131 total we had to limit the number of Freshmen/Sophomores in our colonization class. We currently have formally pledged 110 new members with 6 NMs that were excused and have re-scheduled their FP ceremony. So it looks like we will be at 116 by the end of the week – with the slight possibility of adding more Juniors and Seniors in the near future. We are very pleased with our newest new member class!

The colony had their first meeting tonight and they are applying for Executive Council positions and will be interviewed this weekend by their Director of New Chapters, Candice Perilstein. We are fortunately to have former Vice President Collegiate, Trixy Brill, offer to interview those ZTA alumnae who have applied for advisor positions for the colony. She would like to meet with as many potential advisors as possible at Zeta Day – but is willing to travel to Chicago on an alternate date for those who are not attending Zeta Day. More information on this process will be forthcoming.

In the meantime – please know that the ZTA Northwestern Colony is off to a great start. If you would like to read more about it – check out The Daily Northwestern Online – Monday Feb. 19th.

Zeta Love,

Karen Mills
ZTA Extension Director
