Pack 103 Committee meeting minutes Committee Meeting Minutes November 11, 2009 The meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m. Members present were: Branden and Beth Schrader, Karen Shaw, Bill McKinley, Anna Wilson, Danya Burk, Michael Hyde, Holly Emery, Lauri Marshall, Jocelyn Cruise, Dawn Owens and Sandra Barciszewski. Karen Shaw presented the members with a Treasurer’s Report and that was reviewed. The current balance is $1,292.06. The Financial Committee had voted to move the checking account and it was moved to Bank of America from US Bank to avoid the $12.00 monthly analysis fee. Karen is resigning as Treasurer and Danya Burk will be assuming the role when the popcorn fundraiser is completed. Danny Young was nominated to be the Pack Photographer/Historian to take photos at the events. Scouting for Food Drop Off is this Saturday Nov. 14th. We will meet at St. Mary’s Parish Center at 8:45 am to distribute door hangers. Bill McKinley stressed the importance of not placing any door hangers in mailboxes as it is a federal offense. The pickup is scheduled for Sat. Nov. 21st. A pancake and sausage breakfast will be prepared by the Knights of Columbus at 8:00 am. Bill volunteered to purchase the food and take to the event. He also arranged that the cost be split by the Pack and the Troop. Pack 103 was the 2nd highest seller of popcorn in the Black Gold District. We will meet at St. Mary’s Parish Center Thurs. Nov. 12th at 4:30 p.m. to drive to Salem to pick it up and sort at Danya’s house. Money is due Nov. 24th to Danya and to Council on Dec. 1st. Danya has received the prizes and it was decided to give those out at the Pack Christmas party. The Christmas Party was briefly discussed. St. Mary’s Parish Center is fully booked every Saturday in December. Dawn Owens will check if we can use Faith Lutheran Church. We decided to have it 5-10 p.m. with food, games, and possibly movies if we can get a movie projector. Bill McKinley will check on that detail. The pack had approximately $1,000 in wreath sales compared to $1,300 last year. We should make 30-35% profit. Beth will inform parents of the pickup date and location at a later time. Pinewood Derby will be on Jan. 23rd at St. Mary’s Gym. Branden has a listing of the rules. We will have 1st through 5th place trophies as well as Best Engineered, Turtle and Cub master’s Choice. We will place an order for the trophies with the same company that we used last year. We will be handing out cars at the Scouting for Food Breakfast/Pickup day. We will set up the track up early. A parent or guardian can do a test run of the scout’s car an hour before race starts. Only 2 test runs will be allowed. We will also be selling candy and popcorn at the event. The Pack Recharter is due Jan. 1, 2010. The dues will be increasing to $15.00/year. February 20, 2010 there will be a District Dinner held at Trinity St. John’s in Nashville, Illinois. This is for all Scout Leaders. Branden also noted that the scout camps are looking for used appliances. If you have one that you would like to donate, you can call Branden to arrange drop-off. The next Roundtable meeting is scheduled for December 3rd at 6:30. There will be a potluck and a $15.00 gift exchange. A Trivia Night Committee was formed to arrange and plan the event. There will be a committee meeting on Wed. Nov. 18th at 6:30 to further discuss plans. It was decided to have the event on Sat. January 9, 2010. There will be food, alcohol, 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. It was suggested that Silver Streak could possibly serve food and bartend. The event will be hosted by “Friends of Pack 103”. Meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m. |
