 Blanketeer Bulletin Board
November 2009
It has come to our attention that there are two recipes with omissions in the Kitchens of Kindness cookbooks. If you own one and would like correction labels, please email Linda at Linuschicago@aol.com. The corrections to the book are as follows:
page 95 Impossible Pumpkin Pie-please add 12 oz evaporated milk, 1 Tablespoon butter, softened and 2 eggs. page 99 Pumpkin Pie Squares-please change the sugar to 1/4 cup and add 1 egg to the crust. Sorry for the inconvenience. The good news is that both the recipes are real winners! Happy Cooking!

Crafts Etc (www.craftsetc.com) has a 25% off sale going on on needlework (including yarn) with free shipping on orders over $25. I've ordered from them with satisfaction. Just to give you an idea Red Heart Super Saver skiens are $1.94 during the sale. Good through 11/26/09. Karen G.
Major sales are going on at both Hancock Fabrics and Vogues Fabrics this month. Don't miss the bargins on cotton and fleece!

STARBUCKS SIT 'N STITCH AND THREE BAGS FULL KNIT SHOP
SPECIAL EVENT on NOVEMBER 18TH
Three Bags Full, the knit shop two doors down from Starbucks (1931 Cherry Lane, Northbrook), has offered to open at 6:30 pm on our next meeting night so we can do a little shopping there. They are normally not open for business on Wednesday nights but will open just for us at 6:30 for 1/2 hour. Plan on coming to Starbucks early and check it out. As we are making blankets for charity, they are also offering us a 10% discount on purchases made that night. So mark you calendars for an earlier time, 6:30 pm on November 18TH and do a little shopping at Three Bags Full before you come to Starbucks.
What is “Do It In Public”(DIIP)?
It’s our way of supporting our community – the community of fiber artists. In order to be available to more people, we are scattering our meeting times. As of October, 2009, we will gather on the 2nd Tues evening, the 3rd Wed evening, and the 4th Sunday afternoon each month…someplace, and we do our art (whatever it is – lacemaking, knitting, spinning, basket weaving, hand quilting, etc) in a public place. We invite anyone who would like to attend and we invite comment from passersby.
