Stitcher’s Necessaries – Finishing Class
Teacher: Cathy Habermann
Kit Cost: $20
This fun-filled workshop will focus primarily on finishing techniques. The class projects are a pin box and strawberry fob, stitched on 28 count light blue and antique white gingham linen with Wildflowers and pearl cotton. Class starts with valuable information for creating your own “finishing studio.”
-Pin box focus techniques: the “flat finish”, probably the single best finishing technique to learn and practice, and "cording".
-Strawberry Fob focus techniques: Try a little hand sewing to create a unique, but necessary, stitcher’s tool. Pattern placement will also be discussed.
Cathy's passion for needlework began when she was nine years old. She currently owns Hands On Finishing in Sioux City, IA and teaches embroidery and finishing.
