  2. Annette McLane moved to accept the Treasurers Report as of 10/21/09 as submitted by Cindy Cressler. Seconded by Audrey Steele. Motion carried.

Final Football Game – Middle School Night: Discussion and information presented for the game on October 23rd. Magee and RLMS bands will be included in the pre-game show and then stay to support and watch the RLHS band’s half-time show. All will then regroup after half-time to the RLHS band room for hot cocoa and cookies provided by the RLHS FAB. Lori Driscoll has offered to let us utilize her huge pot to make hot cocoa.

Also mentioned was the Thursday, October 22nd Fall Informance and Band-a-Rama concerts. These will be free admission with the choir performing in the RLHS Theater from 5-545pm and the band performing in the RLHS gym beginning at 6pm.

Fundraising Update: Kringles fundraiser status was presented as the total profit ($1965.00) by selling 602 kringles this year. This will now allow for the opportunity to offer 6 scholarships for RLHS students in band and/or choir.

Party Lite fundraiser will run during Nov. 2-13, 2009. 50% will go to RLHS FAB and the orders will be delivered directly to the sellers to deliver. Discussion to split the profit 60% to the general fund and 40% to the individual student accounts. Liz has the order forms ready.

Discussion regarding the student accounts. Notices will be sent to parents of students regarding status of overdue / unpaid balances. Liz found a summary page that can be utilized.

Choir attire fund update – Liz provided an update from the RLHS School Board determination. The order will be placed (the PO is about to be processed) and within 3-5 weeks, the choirs (Panther Voices and Women’s Ensemble) should be receiving their outfits. The school board approved the decision to split the cost.

An item of consideration is to consider thermal shirts for band and Color Guard, also to become school property upon purchase.

Upcoming fundraiser to be held at Buffalo Wild Wings on 11/8/09. RLHS FAB will receive 15% of all food sales. FAB received $375.00 from the prior BWW event. The Winter Guard will set up an account and have received a $300 sponsorship directly from BWW as an “athletic” group. Decision was presented and agreed to reimburse Jaime Dormody as the top priority and then the consideration to equipment for the guard moving forward.

Madrigal Dinner: Discussion that we need parent volunteers for this upcoming event (Dec. 5-6). Only one parent has signed up to assist. Panera Bread (Round Lake and Gurnee locations) has offered to provide the breads for the respective nights. Liz mentioned the possibility of utilizing the Culinary Tech students to help with the cooking and preparation in the kitchen. Last year’s coordinator will not be able to assist this year. The cost of meat last year was approximately $600; discussion regarded whether or not to try to save cost by not using vendors (precook time versus hours in kitchen). Ms. Millard presented the needs of the event (i.e., setup & breakdown are minor in comparison to the food preparation). Jack & Lydia’s of Lake Villa have provided food prior. Liz will follow up with them on options.

Band Directors Report: Last football home game performance will be this Friday night. The ISU field trip to the state championships will be in need of chaperones (Dan & Judy Hartlieb and Liz DiSalvo volunteered). The RLHS band will not be performing at the Community Chili Dinner on 10/26 due to scheduling. The Band Lock In has been set for 10/30 and needs a minimum of 10 parent volunteers via 3 different shifts. IMEA is underway. Of the RLHS Band, 7 members auditioned and 2 qualified. Mr. Martindale has stated to Ms. Millard that the band room will have air conditioning by Spring 2010. Winter Guard auditions will be held next week and there will be a 3 person committee for the auditions. The USC field trip was fun and the band sounded great!

Choir Directors Report (discussion by the FAB as Ms. Moroni was home ill): The Augustana trip was a phenomenal vocal experience for the Panther Voices students. IMEA choral auditions had excellent results with 6 qualified (5 boys and 1 girl).

New Items: Ms Millard mentioned that Synergy is coming back to perform at the RLHS band room on October 26th and the middle school students are invited to attend. Mr. Beagley is providing the funding for the event this year.

Dates set for future FAB meetings for 2009-2010 year: Meeting dates were selected for the rest of the school year to be on the first Wednesday of each month in the RLHS band room.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:52 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Audrey Steele, Secretary
