SPECIAL CAC MEETING - Friday, February 12th - Please Attend!
Townhall Meeting With Local Lawmakers
7 p.m., Elgin High School Library
The Citizens' Advisory Council invites you to take part in a townhall meeting with local legislators. These are OUR representatives in Springfield and we need to let them know that the lack of funding for education is hurting our students. Please help us represent our community and let them know what the second largest school district in our state needs for our students to be successful. Please join Mrs. Brandes and Wayne's representatives to the CAC and help them give our section of the district a voice!
District Budget Forums
In addition to speaking to lawmakers about our current financial needs, Dr. Jose M. Torres, Superintendent of School District U-46, has scheduled five public forums in order to receive feedback from the U-46 community and employees regarding possible budget reductions for next school year.
Attendees at each forum will hear a brief overview of the current revenue shortfalls that are occurring across the State of Illinois, and then hear the list of reductions that were considered by the district’s Budget Advisory Task Force. Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to put themselves in the role of decision-maker and provide input on areas of potential reductions using an online survey that will list possible areas of savings and the amount that will be realized. Computer labs will be available at the conclusion of each forum for individuals who do not have internet access at home. You must attend a forum to participate in the survey.
