Lobsterfest!
Month of September 2009
The Wheeling Jaycees have partnered with Bob Chinn's Crabhouse for the annual, much-anticipated Lobsterfest fundraiser!
Your surf-and-turf dinner includes your choice of a 1 lb Maine lobster or 10 oz of shrimp, plus your choice of an 8 oz prime strip steak or a teriyaki chicken breast. All meals are served with parsley potatoes, garlic rolls and coleslaw.
Tickets are $22 and can be redeemed throughout September 2009 (but are not valid on Saturdays). Tickets are available through Jaycee members and can be ordered through PayPal via the Lobsterfest link on this Web site.
Please help spread the word to your friends and neighbors. Proceeds will help support our chapter's upcoming service projects.
Community Paint-a-thon
Saturday, Sept. 12 (rain date: Sept. 19)
The Wheeling Jaycees will help give a home a facelift as participants in the 22nd Annual Community Paint-a-thon. Painting will begin early in the morning and last until around mid-afternoon. Volunteers are needed the day of the event, as well as for prep work prior to Sept. 12.

Bump, Set, Spike!
Wednesday nights; times vary each week
Join us for sand volleyball Wednesday nights this summer at the Wheeling Rec Center ... times vary, and can be found at Meetup.com. $10 per season for Jaycees; $60 per season for prospective members (fee includes one season and a one-year Jaycees membership!) Contact Karen for more information.
Pancake Breakfast
Sunday, Oct. 4
The Wheeling Jaycees will sponsor a pancake breakfast following the park district's annual autumn 5K/10K. The races begin at 10 a.m. Breakfast is $5.

Senior Oktoberfest
Saturday, Oct. 24
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Join us for an Oktoberfest celebration at the Pavilion Senior Center! We will grill brats and prepare all the trimmings for a fun and tasty event!

Holiday Shoppers
Saturday, Dec. 5
8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The Wheeling Jaycees will sponsor their annual holiday shopping trip for local, underprivileged children. The program includes breakfast and a visit/gift from Santa, plus a budget for the children to spend on gifts for their family members, with the assistance of the Jaycees. The event will take place at Walmart.

Relay For Life
On May 30th, for the second consecutive year, the Wheeling Jaycees formed a Relay for Life team to raise money for the American Cancer Society - while having fun!
As of June 2, our team has raised $2,400! Make a donation at the Relay for Life Web site Donations toward the 2009 event will be accepted through August 31!
