There are stipulations and requirements to qualify for this service. If you have a question regarding the stipulations and requirements, please call Les Walden at (812)448-9015. Welcome to American Legion Post #2, Indiana's Oldest Post. For those of you that don't know the story, you have to wonder, if we are Post #2 then how can we be Indiana's Oldest Post? Well the Veteran of Brazil were the first to submit their paperwork for their charter. However the first State Commander belonged to another Post that was not as quick at getting their's in. But the Veterans of Clay County and Brazil have always been about service and duty, so there fore we allowed Post #1 to go to the Home of the first State Commmander. It was supposed to have been returned, but those things happen and we have been Post #2 every since.
Post #2 is home to chapters of the Ladies Auxilery, Sons of the American Legion, 40 & 8, as well as the newest members of our family, the Legion Riders. We have a full service dinning room that is open for breakfast and lunch six days a week an open for dinner on the weekend. We have karoake or live bands every Friday and Saturday nights for you entertainment.

POST 2 HAS CHANGED THE MONTHLY MEETINGS FROM TWO A MONTH TO ONE A MONTH. THE MEETING IS AT 7:00:PM ON THE SECOND THURSDAY OF THE MONTH.
Reason for change. out of almost 1000 members we have about 5 or 6 show for every meeting.

Join Our Ranks
Post 2 has a rather large membership but we always have room for more within our ranks. We have several guests that have visited the Post to find out that instead of being a guest, they were actually eligible to become a member. So let us give you the run down. If you are currently defending this great Country today or have served your country in the Armed Forces in the past, you may be able to join the American Legion. If you are related to a veteran who has made the final call or is still living, you can probably join the American Legion Auxiliary or the Sons of the American Legion. We need to strengthen our membership ranks. Post 2 is the oldest American Legion Post in the state of Indiana but we always need help to face the many new challenges that Veterans face today. We remain involved in many different areas of our community as well such as scholarships, educational programs, emergency assistance, and other worthwhile projects. We are a non-profit organization and much of our spending directly benefits our own community and neighborhood. Please call us if you have any questions about eligibility.
