Spring Camporee April 16-18, 2004
April 16-18, 2004, Venturing Crew 13 went to Spring Camporee at Camp K in Frankton, IN. The members that went were David Sr, Betty, Denaz, David Jr, Maggie, and Amber. The theme was Wilderness Survival. We left at 5:00pm Friday afternoon and arrived at camp at 7:30pm. We camped behind Troop 13. Some of the activities we did included sessions on learning first aid, purifying water, how to make a fire, building shelters, etc; putting the sessions to good use (i.e. - go to creek, get water and purify it properly); tracking skills, and hiking. All in all, it was fun! We will have pics for you as soon as we get them developed. |

We use military ranking system as a base and Boyscout principles as a foundation. The next event in Navigators is going to be at Camp Atterbury on the weekend of May 21-23, 2004. Some features and activities will include a military exercise on escape and survival, the game 'Sight Unseen', just to name a few.

Are you ready ? Welcome to our website. This crew was started March 26, 2001 at East 10th United Methodist Church, which is located at the corner of 10th and Keystone. Venture Crew 13 is a crew located in the Pioneer District of the Crossroads of America Council, or CAC. Our crew is made up of boys and girls ages 14-21 that want something in life.
We do a lot of different things and have many interests. Like the Boy Scouts, we explore the world, one place at a time. We make learning skills such as caving, crafts, hiking, skating, camping, and survival an experience to remember. But that's not all we do. We also learn skills such as leadership and teamwork as we have fun in our group activities. This co-ed crew is going places far and wide. If you feel up to the challenge, come and visit us.
See if you've got what it takes to be a member of Crew 13. |
