THE MOM THAT CAME BACK FOR HER BABIES !
YOU HAVE HEARD THE MOM WON"T COME BACK FOR HER YOUNG.......
READ THIS....IT WILL CHANGE YOUR MIND !
The person who called is the sister of Diane, a rehabber here in
Tucson.
Diane rehabs only birds and bunnies so she had her sister, Jerri,
call me.
Jerri saw the tree fall so she knew it had only been about 15
minutes since
the baby squirrels had been alone. I suggested that Jerri and her
family
wait for awhile to see if mom squirrel came back for the babies.
Jerri and
her whole family waited, paced the floor, took turns taking
Pepto-Bismo,
cried, and wrung their hands. The son went to PetSmart for
supplies I had
suggested "just in case". When the human family was just about to
have
conniption fits mom squirrel made her appearence and took all three
babies
to a new home. The new tree is closer to the house so Jerri can
watch for
possible babies that are pushed out because they were injured.
After the
babies were moved mom came back and moved the chennile nest
material, the
nuts, the acorns, and , I understand, the refrigerator, the spa,
and the
drapes.
Elaine Kyle graciously called and offered her assistance and
expertise in
future emergencies and Jerri, the person-with-the-squirrels, was so
very
grateful to know help is nearby. Thanks, Elaine.
