What is Tres Días? WHAT IS TRES DÍAS? Tres Días is an adult weekend, which aims to concentrate closely on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. While Tres Días explores the basic Christian beliefs, it is best described as a spiritual encounter with Christ. Those who attend a Weekend experience a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Christ as they see and feel His love in a dynamic way. They then carry His love back into their many environments (family, church, work, etc.) to bring others to Christ. IS TRES DÍAS A DENOMINATION? No! Tres Días is not a substitute for church. Participation in Tres Días cannot replace active, contributing membership in your church. Tres Días can only help awaken the need for Christ in your life, or strengthen the walk you already have with Him. This awakening and strengthening takes on its fullest meaning when you strive to play a more committed and active role in your church community. Participants are expected, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to work toward transforming environments with the gospel of Christ. Note: The above section was taken from the North Texas Tres Días website. WHAT HAPPENS ON A TRES DÍAS WEEKEND? The Spanish words "Tres Días" mean "Three Days." The Weekend begins on a Thursday evening and ends on the following Sunday evening. During these three days, the basics of the Christian life and the meaning of living a Christian ideal in our daily lives are presented. Tres Días is centered on lay and clergy talks. The Team leading the weekend is made up of laymen and clergy who have previously attended a Tres Días or similar Weekend. They volunteer their time for weeks of preparation in work and prayer to build a Christian community that will minister to new attendees (called "Candidates") to Tres Días. Candidates and Team members alike share all meals together. The atmosphere at a Tres Días weekend is one of love, joy, Christian fellowship, singing, laughing, and worship. It makes future Christian experiences more meaningful because it shows how lively and joyful the Christian life is intended to be. Tres Días is made only once in a lifetime. But that one experience changes one's life forever. WHO SHOULD ATTEND A TRES DÍAS WEEKEND? Tres Días is strictly an ecumenical movement. It is open to any Christian from any Christian denomination. It ignores denominational doctrines and presents the truth from God's Word. It is a tool of God to build up His church and prepare it to fulfill Christ's commission of taking the Gospel into all the world. Accordingly, it is not designed to convert persons to Christianity. But, just as Christ meets all persons right where they are in their life, so Tres Días will strengthen all persons in their faith and discipleship. There are separate Weekends for men and women. If married, husbands generally attend a Weekend first. Wives usually attend a few weeks later. Each person wishing to attend must be sponsored by someone who has previously attended a Tres Días or similar weekend. WHERE ARE THE WEEKENDS HELD? The Weekends of Indianapolis Tres Días are held at Saint Bernadette Church, located at 4938 Fletcher Ave. in Indianapolis. This is one block south of English Ave. and two blocks west of Emerson Avenue. You can find a map here. ![]() Saint Bernadette Church
