Summer Secuela 2009

Approximately 38 pescadores turned out on the evening of July 11th for a fun time of fellowship and worship. The Secuela, held at Arlington Heights Baptist Church, was organized by our excellent Post-Weekend Director Renetta Trissel.
We began by snacking on various types of ice cream topped with yummy toppings. Next up was to be singing songs of praise to our Lord. Originally we were going to sing karaoke-style, but when the boom box that Renetta brought wouldn't play the CD's properly, Greg Campbell jumped in with his guitar and led us in some songs. Thank you Greg!
Brian Craighead then gave a devotion that explained to us why ice cream is a necessity! Then Tammy Cutshaw shared a wonderful message with us about her Fourth Day years since she made her Weekend. She stressed the importance of Reunion Groups. To build on what Tammy said, we then broke into four groups and each group discussed what hinders us from joining or being active in a Reunion Group.
After we reassembled, Donna Dowd gave us a Communion devotion, after which we all partook of the Lord's Supper. Then Greg lead us in one final song, and we joined hands and had a closing prayer, lead by Jim Doyle.
The whole evening was a blast. It was great to see some new and old faces, as we gathered together in the name of our Lord!
