OrgSites is committed to protecting your online privacy. Please read these policies to understand what personal information we collect and how we use it. Our policies may change as our services evolve, so please check back occasionally for updates.
INFORMATION GATHERED BY
ORGSITES AND HOW IT IS USED
The only personal information gathered by OrgSites is the information a user supplies in order to set up and maintain a website or NewsBar. (Hereinafter, both websites and NewsBars will be referred to collectively as "OrgSites," "websites," or "sites.") This information is limited to the user's name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. In addition, OrgSites records the user identification and password each user chooses for a site. OrgSites does not sort or track or aggregate this information in any way; it is simply stored in each user's account and accessed only when necessary to notify users of service updates or to help users with site maintenance and technical services.
Under ordinary circumstances, OrgSites will not sell or share the names of organizations, the names of individual website owners, or any other personal identifying information with any third party without explicit consent. The only exception to this rule would be a circumstance in which OrgSites is compelled by law to disclose such information, or if OrgSites is acquired by another company.
We may collect and disclose general information about aggregated use of OrgSites, broad site-creation patterns, participation levels, categories of sites, and visitation to OrgSites. We will do this only to gain a better understanding of how OrgSites is used by visitors so that we can improve our services. We may also collect and disclose general information about participation levels, patterns of use, and visitation to OrgSites in advertising materials or in connection with efforts to link OrgSites to RockPlaza.com, an online shopping service that returns dividends to organizations. No personal identifying information will be included in any such materials.
ACCOUNT INFORMATION IS PRIVATE AND SECURE
Although it is a given in the industry that data transmission over the Internet can never be absolutely guaranteed to be 100% secure, OrgSites has taken every reasonable security measure to ensure that its databases are as secure as we can make them from known methods of computer trespass. OrgSites account information and the sites themselves can be accessed and edited only if the user has the correct user identification and password. OrgSites therefore protects the privacy and confidentiality of all personal information provided by every user and also protects the website content from being accessed by unauthorized persons.
- We highly recommend users NOT code email addresses within their page(s) of their content as web crawlers can and do "scrape" pages for this content for use in spamming, phishing and other illegal communication purposes.
- We also highly recommend users NOT code any kind of personally identifiable and/or address information that a visitor to the site could utilize.
If a user chooses not to list personal contact information (such as phone numbers or addresses) on a website, that information is "hidden" from view in an area of the site that is accessible only by the site owner with the correct user identification and password.
THE ORGSITES DIRECTORY
OrgSites maintains a directory that automatically lists every site that is created. There is an option to choose not to be listed in the OrgSites Directory. So that viewers can use the OrgSites Directory efficiently, sites are categorized by type, subject matter key words, and by location, if that information is provided by the user. If the user does not provide this information, the Directory lists only the name of the site. The OrgSites Directory (and therefore every site listed in the Directory) is viewable publicly by any Internet visitor.
PRIVACY WITH RESPECT TO CONTENT AND USE
CHANGING CONTACT INFORMATION OR CONTENT ON AN ORGSITE
Sites can be accessed for updating and editing only if the user has the site's user identification and password.
DELETING AN ORGSITE OR NEWSBAR
Site owners may delete their sites at any time. OrgSites will request owner verification, and then the site will be deleted and permanently removed from the OrgSites Directory and database. No record of a deleted site or personal identifying information of a deleted site's owner will be retained by OrgSites.
