Welcome to the Fort Scott Cadette Troop 4525's Web Page
Our troop is made up of 8th and 9th graders from Fort Scott, Kansas. The girls of this troop are very involved in earning IPPs and special awards. We have lots of fun together and are more like one big family with several sisters, instead of just friends. Sometimes, we even disagree like sisters, but we always make up, too. If you live in the Fort Scott Area and would like to join Girl Scouting, just email us at the bottom of the page and I will get back in touch with you. The only reason I am in Girl Scouts is because my best friend ordered me into it. I am glad I did because it is fun to be able to be with friends and have a lot of fun. I have been in it for a little over two years, and my leader makes everything so fun! I'm haven't been able to do a lot of the volunteer stuff because when we plan it my family goes underneath me and plans something else. Sometimes that upsets me, because it makes it hard to earn badges. I have only earned a few because of that.
Recently my troop has been working on many intrest project patches. One of my favorites has been the Pet's patch. Many things had to be done to finish this patch. First we had to make a pet care chart. The charts includes information on your pets health,address,excersis, feeding schedule, and more. For our service project we went to see a local vet. Dr. Gray is a DVM at the Animal Care Center. She shared many interesting detail with us. We learned that as pets get older they may need to have an adjusted diet,for certain health reasons. Dr. Gray also gave us some valuable advice on entering the veterinary field. She told us that it takes many years of hard work and schooling, and that you should be willing to spend a lot of time on call and on the job. We also got to make dog biscuts for the local animal shelter. All in all this was a wonderful patch and I suggest this for any and all animal lovers.
