Minister Darrin E. Crawford was raised in Parsons, Kansas and was a member of the historical Pleas Chapel (now renamed Watson Memorial) Church of God In Christ and was saved and accepted his calling under his father in the gospel, the late Superintendent Virgil E. Watson.
Minister Crawford was raised listening to Gospel Music. Not only did he have gospel music records and tapes but his grandmother “Big Mama” had 8 girls who traveled singing with their mom all over the country known as the “Rowe Family” This ministry gave Darrin the desire to sing and play the piano. At age 5 he began singing and by the age of 7 the Lord had anointed him to play the piano without taking any lessons. His mother, Jennie Crawford, now deceased, bought him his first piano. Who would have thought that his first song in church “Amen” would lead to him into what is now a Ministry of Music.
Darrin was not only active in his local church music ministry but also in the Fort Scott District music department under the leadership of Missionary Autherine Simpson and was a district musician. He founded the "Perfect Praise Youth Choir" which consisted of a 40-60 children's choir. He was also apart of the Kansas East Jurisdiction State Choir under the leadership of Sister Linda Cofield. He conducted music workshops and ministered throughout Kansas and the surrounding four states within the Church of God In Christ and in other denominations. He has also been the winner and finalists of many talent searches, contests, and competitions both with church and school getting regional and national recognition. He was a recipent of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award as well as received the Youth of the Year Award from the State of Kansas being the musical guest at the Inaugural Ceremony of the Governor of Kansas.
After graduating from Parsons High School, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was the Minister of Music for Northside COGIC and received his Certificate of Completion/Ministerial License from the C.H. Mason Bible Seminar and School of Theology where he studied Music and Evangelism. He was a lead vocalist with the Oklahoma Northwest Jurisdictional Choir under the leadership of Evangelist Linda Jones and began to get national recognition as he was a vocalist for the PCCNA (Penetecostal Charismatic Churches of North America), often called by Pastor David Smith to Higher Dimensions pastored by Bishop Carlton Pearson to assist musically with the AZUSA choir and projects, he also was the Assistant Worship leader for the early morning Chapel held at the Oral Roberts University and is often asked to be the Worship leader at many conferences and conventions within and outside of the Church of God In Christ.
In September 1999, he moved to Topeka, Kansas and joined the El Shaddai Ministries COGIC pastored by Founders E.T. Watson, III and Lady Doria Watson where he was the Minister of Music for three years. He founded Singer 4 God Productions/Darrin Crawford Ministries (http://www.orgsites.com/ks/dcrawfordministries) and started the Singers' and Musicians Workshop/Concert that was held annually in March and brought in renowned artists such as: Evangelist Chrystal Rucker, Evangelist Linda Cofield, Minister Eric Cobbins and the Ministry and many others. Through his faithfulness to God and his pastor, he was blessed to see the church grow and eventually went to an 8:00 morning service in addition to the 11:00 service. Now as a Music Evangelist and Psalmist, Minister Crawford is traveling to various cities and states leading many denominations in an awesome unforgettable worship experience. He has been a guest vocalist for many conventions, conferences, and services throughout the United States as is making full proof of the ministry God has given him.
